Why the Riksbank needs data

In order to calculate the deposit requirement, the Riksbank needs information on credit institutions' deposits, debt securities issued and exempt liabilities. This data is already collected by Statistics Sweden and stored in their database. As the Riksbank can only use this information for the purposes of financial supervision and the production of statistics, the consent of the credit institutions is required for the confidentiality to be lifted. If consent is not given, the institutions must send the data directly to the Riksbank.

To make things easier, the forms can be downloaded electronically below. You can complete, sign and return them by email or letter. Please note that some data is subject to absolute secrecy under Chapter 31, Section 1 of the Swedish Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (OSL).

What you need to send to the Riksbank:

1. Consent to the lifting of confidentiality (Appendix 1 (in Swedish), if you give your consent to the Riksbank obtaining the data from Statistics Sweden
2. Alternatively, if you do not give your consent in Appendix 1, Request for financial information (Appendix 2, in Swedish)
3. Possibility to claim certain deductions (Appendix 3, in Swedish) with relevant supporting documents
4. Request for general information (Appendix 4, in Swedish)
5. Authorisation documents for representatives who have signed Appendix 1

Email or post the information to us. If the forms are not received in time, the Riksbank may decide that the credit institution must pay a fine (reporting obligations order).

Reporting instructions

Forms that are downloaded and completed digitally should be kept in their original format and not converted to PDF. For electronic reporting, please send the forms via email to: [email protected]. Completed documents can also be sent by post to:

Please note that the forms must be signed by the registered authorised signatory of the company, and that an extract from the criminal records registry in support of the authorised signatory must be attached.
